Lightscapade Mineralize Skinfinish! (lots of pics)

Yes. I have finally fulfilled my quest of obtaining the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade! I orginally planned on ordering this with my MAC Fall Colours purchases but the MAC website was sold out FOREVER. I even went to my local MAC counter the day that the collection came out. They had only been sent a sample of the MSF due to the low stock! I kept checking the MAC website every day until finally they restocked. I ordered this baby ASAP. (I might be a little obsessed) I checked the website the day after I had ordered and they were already sold out again! Crazy.. I knew this certain MSF was in high demand but I didn't realize just how much everyone wanted it!

This Mineralize Skinfinish, Lightscapade (love the name), is a gorgeous white/silver highlighter. It looks beautiful in the pan as it does on the skin. There are no big chunks of glitter so it is very wearable. It does not give a super intense highlighter effect so it is perfect for an every day highlighter. It looks very subtle and natural on the skin. I really would recommend picking up this MSF if you get the chance to. If you collect MSF's or Highlighters this will be an awesome addition to your collection.

Wearable Halloween Inspired Eyes

Halloween is three weeks away and I am already so excited! It is probably my second favorite holiday. I love seeing all of the different makeup looks for costumes that everyone is coming up with! Jesse's Girl Brown Eyed Girl Review + FOTD

Walking through my local Rite Aid I spotted some of the Jesse's Girl palettes. The only time I have heard about this brand was from Julieg713 on Youtube. She has her own line of nail polishes with the Jesse's Girl makeup brand. This particular palette called "Brown Eyed Girl" caught my eye because of all the orange, yellow, and red/brown tones which are perfect fall colors! They remind  me of the changing leaves. :) I got this palette from Rite aid for $3.99 and it can also be purchased on Jesse's Girl website (click here) for the same price. They also sell three more of these palettes with a number of different shades.

Review

All of the eye shadows in this palette are satin colors with shimmer. Because of this, they show up pretty sheer but the color is buildable. The texture is very smooth and they are extremely easy to blend. One thing I did not like is how easily the colors come off the pan to your brush because they are so soft. One swipe of your brush will pick up a lot of color. This could get messy and is not needed.

 These eye shadows do wear very well throughout the day over an eye shadow primer. After wearing them all day, my eye shadow was still as vibrant as when I first put it on with no creasing. 

I love the variety of colors that this palette contains from highlight colors to dark crease colors. This will make it easy to make a number of different fall eye shadow looks. And, 9 eye shadows for $3.99 is an awesome deal!

I would recommend this palette to anyone. They are great colors for fall that will look good on everyone. These colors are especially great for you ladies with blue eyes since orange, rust, and yellow colors are opposite from blue on the color wheel. They will really make blue eyes stand out!

I have been using all of these products pretty much every day during September.. 

Make Up Forever Matte Velvet Plus Foundation

I have been wearing this foundation so much this month! I wanted a medium/full coverage foundation that did not feel very heavy like my other full coverage foundations. This gives my skin a flawless finish and I don't even feel like I am wearing any foundation! I also like the matte finish it gives and it wears for a good 16 hours like a long wearing foundation. I am shade 45 which is medium skin tone with pink and beige undertones.

Yes To Tomatoes Clear Skin Cleanser 

I have been using this as my every day cleanser since I purchased this from Ulta a little while ago. I have already gone through 1 bottle! Although I haven't really noticed any significant skin clearing, it does leave my face feeling soft and very clean. I like that it is mostly natural ingredients that I am putting on my face.

Bath and Body Works Super Softening Hand Lotion

I received this hand lotion as a free gift when purchasing some other items from Bath and Body Works. I have literally never tried another lotion that leaves my hands feeling as soft as when I use this! This lotion contains paraffin, olive, avocado/apricot oils, and vitamin E. This can also be used as an overnight intense conditioning treatment. I plan on doing this more in the winter months when my hands get really dry and cracked. 

MAC Raizin Blush

This has been my go to blush this past month. It is a matte finish warm brown. This really is a good blush for warming up the cheeks. I like to pair it with more intense eye looks. 

Slatkin & Co. Marshmallow Fireside Candle

And finally my absolute favorite candle that I have purchased! I am obsessed with anything that is marshmallow scented. This is the perfect combination of marshmallow and Bath and Body Work's Fireside scent! It gives off such a warm and comforting scent that I want to burn it all the time.  

MAC Fall Colour Purchases!

So I just received my order of items from MAC's Fall Colour collection! I ended up purchasing two eye shadows: Royale and Three Ring Yellow. I also purchased the Eye Kohl in Feline because I never got a chance to get it before. I planned on purchasing the Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade but they were sold out online soooo quick and my local MAC counter was never even sent any! I guess we will have to see if they restock! 

I love Feline. It is very similar to Smolder eye kohl but a little more intense of a black.

Royale is a matte blue/purple eye shadow. I thought this was so pretty when I saw swatches of it before the collection came out. When swatching and wearing it I was pretty disappointed with the color payoff. It took a lot to achieve the color in the pictures and showed up a lot lighter than I thought. 

Three Ring Yellow is a veluxe pearl yellow/ gold eye shadow. It is kind of hard to see in the photo but this is such a gorgeous color. The color payoff is a lot better than Royale. I love that this color has a hint of olive green to it. It is really very different than any other gold color that I own. 

I still will be on my quest to pick up Lightscapade! I will also be doing a FOTD post coming up using these three products. So keep an eye out for that! :)

How to: Bright Wide Awake Eyes

Everyone has those days of extreme exhaustion where all you want to do is go back to sleep. For some of us ladies that may be every day! It definitely takes its toll and shows on your face especially in the eye area. Here is a makeup look that will help you achieve that wide awake look like you got that 10 hours of sleep!

 The main key to making your eyes look brighter is a white eyeliner pencil and lighter more natural eye shadow colors. 

How to achieve this look!..

First put any eye shadow primer all over your lid!

Step 1

Line entire inner eye with a white eye liner pencil including upper and lower water line. Blend the white liner into your lower lash line to soften it a bit.

Step 2 

Take the same white eye liner pencil and line your inner tear duct area

Over that white base you created add a light pink or white shimmery eye shadow (I used Urban Decay's Sin)

Step 3

Apply  a shadow that is a shade or two lighter than your skin tone to your entire lid. A shadow with a bit of shimmer will add an extra sparkle to your eye. :) (I used Urban Decay's Sidecar)

Step 4

Add a brown color that is a couple shades darker than your skin tone to your crease area to define your crease and add dimension to your eyes. (I used Mac's Embark)

Step 5

Put a matte white eye shadow under your brow

Finally...

Curl your lashes and apply two coats of mascara to your top and bottom lashes. Apply a salmon colored concealer to your under eye circles to conceal any blue areas and bags. One of my current favorite concealers for under the eyes is Amazing Cosmetic's Amazing Concealer!

I am very excited to see what products will be offered and what kind of deal I can get. :)

Tuesday 9/27 at 8:00 a.m pacific time starts the NYX cosmetics event! I do own NYX products and love them! I'm hoping to pick up on some more eye shadows and blushes.
