Macadamia Natural Oil Flawless Review!

I want to share with you a hair product that I have been using frequently these past couple months.
The highly loved brand, Macadamia, recently came out with a new product called Macadamia Natural Oil Flawless. Seeing this pop up on the counter of Ulta, I decided to take a risk in paying the $33 for this product that I couldn't read any reviews on and knew next to nothing about. Flawless is a cleansing conditioner. Most ladies that I talked to about this product did not know what a cleansing conditioner was.

A cleansing conditioner, such as the popular "Wen" cleansing conditioner,  is a product that acts as both a shampoo and conditioner in one. Cleansing conditioners take the form of a regular conditioner, being very thick and having little to no lather. A cleansing conditioner can also be used in conjunction with shampoo to fully eliminate left over styling products from the hair.
According to Macadamia, Flawless is more than just the normal cleansing conditioner...

What it is
Flawless is an innovative system that combines cleansing, conditioning, and ideal hair refinement in one product. Immediate and perfect balance is restored to any hair type, giving gentle and thorough surfactant-free hair cleansing.

What it does
Macadamia Oil and Argan Oil work in conjunction with the hair's natural oils, replenishing hair life and health imparting manageability, shine, and softness.

Benefits
All-in-one cleansing and conditioning system
Refines hair texture
Optimizes styling process
Drastically cuts down blow drying time
Perfect for all hair types
Surfactant-free and Paraben-free
No stripping suds
(from Macadamia website)

Ingredients
Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Isopentane, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Decyl Glucoside, Stearalkonium Chloride, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Macadamia Integrifolia (Macadamia) Seed Oil, Flower Extract, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protien Pg-propyl Silanteriol, Oleanolic Acid, Apigenin, Isobutane, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Ceteth-10 Phosphate, Dicetyl Phosphate, Steapyrium Chloride, Tetrasodium Edta, Ppg-buteth-26, Peg-40Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, Fragrance (parfum)

Directions
Lightly emulsify 1 to 2 pumps between hands. Apply to wet hair and gently massage spreading Flawless over hair and scalp area. Continuously massage throughout the hair for 3 to 5 minutes depending on hair type. Add a splash of water to assist in the spreading if needed. Rinse thoroughly.

Flawless comes in a typical aluminum type can, similar to what a hairspray would be in, with a pump on the end.

The consistency of the conditioner, when first pumped out of the bottle, is that of a foam. It quickly becomes more of a thick conditioner once leaving the can.
I think like most people, I am BIG on shampoos and conditioners smelling good. If it doesn't smell good, I probably won't use it. The smell of this is very clean and kind of plant/flower smelling. (I'm not very good at describing scents) It does not smell anywhere similar to the healing oil or the deep conditioning masque. However, I still love the smell.

And the big question.. Does it do what it claims to?

All-in-one cleansing and conditioning system
Yes. Most days when washing my hair, this is all that I use. I do not start with any other shampoo and I do not use another conditioner after. It is weird thinking that slathering a conditioner onto your hair will actually clean it. But, my hair feels more clean than it does when I use regular shampoo and conditioner.

Refines hairs texture
Yes. After using this my hair feels clean and especially soft. One of the biggest things that I have noticed is how shiny my hair and bouncy my hair is after using this. I have never used another shampoo/conditioner that has made my hair have so much volume without using another product or even blow drying.

Optimizes styling process
Kind of.  Since my hair comes out so volumized, I find it kind of hard to style! ha

Drastically cuts down blow drying time
Yes. I have been letting my hair air dry mostly during using this and it dries so much faster than it would when using a heavy conditioner. The times that I have blow dried my hair I have noticed the difference as well.

Perfect for all hair types.
Maybe. I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to different hair types. Some people with thick, unruly hair my not feel that a cleansing conditioner is for them. I do feel that this is great for those with thin hair or those who feel that conditioners typically weigh down their hair. I also think this is great for those with dry/damaged hair. This is my hair type.

For the first time in a while, I am paying more attention to the health of my hair. I am currently trying to grow my hair out and I feel that this product is helping in that. After using this cleansing conditioner, I don't think that I will be able to go back to using regular shampoo and conditioner. It feels so much healthier and less drying on my hair. One mistake I had when using this product was not washing it out all the way. Doing this made my hair have a weird texture. The only downside that I see to this product is the price for how much you get. It is $33 for 8 fl. oz. Which is not much. I have already gone through one whole bottle of this and am starting on my second one. I do think I will purchase this again but maybe with one of the value sets found on the Macadamia Website.

Have you tried Flawless? How do you feel about cleansing conditioners?
